About Echoes II
In the paintings of her series Echoes II Angela looks at the interplay of power and vulnerability in historical events. She is especially interested in how we subjectively distribute and perceive such information. How collective memory is created and develops over time and how easily it can be manipulated. By applying slight changes to found footage photographs depicting said historical situations, Angela manipulates and modifies the narratives these photos originally documented.
